Mario Mariani, born in 1970 in Pesaro (Italy). Piano degree in the Pesaro Conservatory of Music (G.Rossini).

At the age of 16 he founded a quartet called Capillary (2 keyboards, sax, drums) inspired to humour/horror/theatrical themes. After this band had broken up in 1992 he founded a 9 members group called "BROZ ENSEMBLE" who plays exclusively his own compositions which has performed in a large bunch of different situations, from strange happenings to International Music Festivals and so on.

Since 1989 he has been played piano on silent movies at the Pesaro International Film Festival.

As pianist he has performed by himself or with a lot of avantgarde music ensembles, choirs,electronic music groups, and in December 1996 he played with the world -famous film composer Riz Ortolani in his orchestra.

In 1995 he built together with the producer/musician Paul Chain a personal recording studio (BROZ LOW- BUDGET STUDIO).

In 1994 he started writing scores for Tv , commercial and author film, in particular animation films with Gianluigi Toccafondo, Mauro Caramanica.

The 35mm animation film "Vertigo" by M.Caramanica won the first prize at the International Festival "Cartoombria" 1996.

The film "5 Aprile" by Matteo Pellegrini was selected to the 53 Venice Film Festival and won the 1st prize at Valsusa FilmFest.

"Tourbillon" by Matteo Pellegrini was selected to the N.I.C.E. (New Italian Cinema Events) and aired in Film Festival in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires and more.

By the end of 1997 he played at Knitting Factory in New York with some american improvisors and in Boston with the Renaissonics, a renaissance group directed by flute/recorder player John Tyson

He played (and arranged the rock section) at the Rossini Opera Festival 1998 in "Isabella", teen-opera by Azio Corghi with the Broz Ensemble.

In the same year "The Masterpie(R)ce" world premier took place at New England Conservatory of Boston, a piece for recorder & string quartet.

In 1999 he scored "Pinocchio" by Gianluigi Toccafondo with the voice of the famous italian actor Carmelo Bene. Selected in Annecy'99 International Film Festival.
